Avalon High Coronation by Meg Cabot

You think you have problems, new student Ellie is supposedly dating the reincarnation of King Arthur! In the form of the hottie Will, also the class president and star football player. This graphic novel mixes high school drama, like the stress of Homecoming, and mystical adventure. This is the first volume of the series that was taken from Avalon High, in normal text form.
In this quick read, it took me about 25-30 minutes, the drama unfolds with Ellie saving the world by helping Will fend of his psycho brother, Marco. But conflict comes with Ellie's search to find the truth. Is Will really a reincarnation of King Arthur? Because if he is, he better start believing in hmself soon, or the fate of not only the Homecoming dance but the world is in his hands.
This story felt a little forced, but at times I found myself enjoying it! It is so simple, like watching an episode of Saved By the Bell, that you fall into it. I would like to read Avalon High and see the difference between the textual and graphic elements. This book would be a good addition for reluctant readers.
Avalon High Coronation Volume 1: The Merlin Prophecy is a Great Graphic Novel for Teens.
