This is an informational text better known as a "how to book" written by three females. There are 99 different ideas to do with a pair of jeans. The goal is to recycle the jeans that have been put in the back of the closet.
Each activity has a name and number to identify the final garment, and an illustration of the finished product on the first page. A graphic of how to cut the jeans along with the procedure for making the article is on the second page. Included in each activity is the time needed and the level of difficulty of each product. A glossary with illustrations are added as support.
Some ideas are a shopping bag, dog jacket, and a heat pad. Each are done with one or two pairs of jeans. The ideas are for the basic designer to the most experience.
This is a great book for anyone who hate to let go of an old item. Take that favorite pair of jeans you can't get into and make a heating pad. Do you own a pooch? Make your dog stylish with your old designer jeans. The authors made this text appealing to look at even if you are not going to create the product. The illustrations and steps are easy to follow.

This type of how to book is often popular with reluctant readers I learned somewhere along the line in my studies. The are usual of the reader's interest,short text. It gets them reading!

the book sounds interesting--a great resource for an art class, I would think, or even a project in an english class, around "wearing art" related to a text (a popular project is to have kids design their own t-shirts related to a theme or text--why not jeans?)

In high school my girlfriends and i went through a major Hobby Lobby phase where we thought anything that we could make or design was just awesome! we were sewing and knitting and scrapbooking and creating our own journals. it was pretty fun. this book would have been nice to refer to back then!
